Description The founding documents of the South Carolina Immigration Association, including its Act of Incorporation, and the objects of the association. The Association was organized not only to promote the sale of lands, but also to call attention to manufacturing, notably cotton mills, of which it gives a brief description of their present state, and to mining, with regard to which it reprints a memorial to Congress from citizens of the sixth congressional district of North Carolina.
