Description | Printed for the use of the Commonwealth Relations Office. In continuation of Dominions No. 166; continued by C.R. No. 25. This item records official correspondence and papers relating to migration policy, particularly post-war policies of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth governments. Free and assisted passage agreements between the UK and the government of Australia are discussed, as is the eligibility of persons born outside the UK to participate in the UK-Australia assisted passage scheme. The settlement of children evacuated under the auspices of the Children's Overseas Reception Board and who desire to remain in New Zealand are also referred to under the New Zealand section. Financial assistance awarded to the voluntary migration organisations for aftercare of migrants features toward the end of the item. |
