Description Letters concerning emigration to Australia, with particular focus on who could and could not be assisted. Many mention limiting the travel of single men, while loans and grants were restricted to certain specialists, such as mechanics. Discussion over what should happen to convicts' wives also appears in these letters, as does information on conditions on board the ships.
