Biographical Note / History | Originally laid down as the Vancouver for the Dominion Line, she was purchased whilst under construction by the Inman Line as the City of Chicago and launched on 23 May 1883. On 18 September 1883 she left Liverpool on her maiden voyage to Queenstown and New York. The last voyage she took departed on 8 June 1892 and she was wrecked near the Old Head of Kinsale, Ireland on 1 July 1892. |
