Biographical Note / History The Benguela and Cameroon were sister ships delivered in May and June 1874 by John Elder and Company for the British and African Steam Navigation Company. The Benguela was wrecked at Nana Kroo while enroute to Hamburg with a cargo of palm oil and palm kernels on 16 May 1905. The Cameroon beached and was lost after hitting a rock enroute from Monrovia, Liberia to Sinu Bay, Liberia.
