Description Includes financial reviews of the quarantine establishment at Grosse Île from 1832 onwards, reports on marine hospital conditions for emigrants at the quarantine station, a paper on the subject of German emigrants, confirmation of the appointment of Thomas Wilson as emigrant agent at Kingston and a series of questions for the emigrant farmer and copies of replies.
Series Description Records created and maintained by the Immigration Branch of the Department of Agriculture. As immigration and colonization became increasingly important to the new Dominion government, the high volume of information flowing into and required from the Minister's office overwhelmed the docket system of record-keeping.
