Description Frank was born in Dobbs Ferry in 1908. He talks about how his parents used to take the family back to Italy when work was scarce and when there was an election. There were also times when the father would come back, but leave the family in Italy and Frank completed some of his early education in Italy. During the First World War, his father remained stuck in America whilst the family were in Italy. Frank discusses his memories of growing up in Italy, the crops that would be grown, his father's experiences during the First World War and applying to become citizens. Frank also discusses his work with the 'Sons of Italy' helping others achieve United States citizenship, charity work and helping to change perceptions of crime in relation to Italian communities.
