Also includes army discharge papers of John Bodler, discharged from the Pennsylvania volunteers in 1865 after three years service, a marriage certificate for John Bodler and Sophia Hubers, business documents of August Bodler and documents regarding the marriage of Johann Heinrich Huber and Sophie Staehler. |

Biographical Note / History | August Bodler and his wife Katharine emigrated from Lindau, Bavaria, to the United States ca. 1850 with their four children. They settled in the Bergen Hill, New Jersey area. In the late 1850s the family moved to Germania, Potter County, Pennsylvania, where August took up farming. |
