Description Correspondence with migrants across the US relating to the repayment of funds. Includes replies professing the difficulty of doing so, and requests for further funds and reimbursements from the Travelers Aid Society of Chicago. Also includes correspondence from US government agencies, and the Polish American Congress, reports on assistance available and lists of transportation costs.
Series Description Records (1948-1968) of the American Committee for Resettlement of Polish Displaced Persons. These include correspondence, financial records, information on fund drives, reports, and organizational papers, including bylaws and articles of incorporation. Correspondents include the Travelers Aid Society of Chicago (Ill.), the Displaced Persons Commission, the Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid, the American Council of Voluntary Agencies for Foreign Services, Inc., the Attorney General of the State of Illinois, and many Polish American organisations.
