The Registrar General has just issued a statistical return shewing that since May, 1851, the awful number of 3,197,419 men and women of Irish birth (the young and strong ones), have fled their birthplace to find in most cases death in foreign lands, and each year is adding to the terrible national drain." This image was printed on a supplement given away with the Weekly Freeman.
